Edward A. Swierczek, Jr., age 79, of Belleville, IL, born on June 20, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, MO, surrounded by his beloved wife, their six children, and family.
Edward retired from Disability Determination Services after 27 years as a Supervisor and Quality Assurance Specialist. He went on to work for Allsup for 17 years. Edward also worked part-time for 37 years as a Tax Preparer for H&R Block, and for 34 years as a Real Estate Agent for Century 21/Hunt, ERA Heritage and Coldwell Banker Nester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Catherine, nee Papciak, Swierczek, Sr.
Edward is survived by his wife, Sondra L. Swierczek, nee Fernandez; his children, Edward A. Swierczek III of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth (Matthew) Cleamer of Swansea, IL, Joseph Swierczek (fiancé, Katrina Swinson) of O’Fallon, IL, Anthony (Michelle) Swierczek of Belleville, IL, Nicholas (Jennifer) Swierczek of Sherwood, AR and Sarah (Paul) Cronin of Niles, IL; his 18 grandchildren, Crescensio and Julius Mata-Pliego; Shelbi, Landin, Karter and Gavin Cleamer; Jacob, Ethan, Gavrielle, and Luke Swierczek, Kaleb, Brayden and Grant Swierczek; Carri and Ashley Williamson, and Dexter Swierczek; and Micah and Jalen Cronin; his brother, Gregory (Karen) Swierczek of Blue Springs, MO; sisters-in-law, Julia Richey of Cedar Hills, MO, and Bonnie Akers of Maryville, TN; and a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. Edward will be forever missed and eternally loved.

Funeral Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
A funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL with Fr. Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
